Benefits of Vitamin D - the sunshine vitamin:
- Essential for bone health - reduces your risk of osteoporosis and fractures
- Boosts your immune system
- Reduces your risk of diabetes
- Reduces your risk of high blood pressure and heart disease
- Boosts weight loss
- May reduce cancer risk
Vitamin D deficiency can therefore affect your health on multiple fronts.
To understand the Vitamin D status of the general population, we conducted a study of all those who did a Vitamin D test as part of a health check-up at Suburban Diagnostics over the past 5 years.
From almost 1.35 lakh samples, we found that a majority were deficient in Vitamin D.
As you can see, depending on age, 60-88% of people are deficient in Vitamin D.
