Breakthrough infection refers to cases in which a completely vaccinated person against COVID-19 nonetheless becomes infected with the virus. A person is considered to be completely vaccinated if they have completed at least 15 days post the second dose of the vaccine.<\/p>\n

Suburban Diagnostics conducted a 2-month study to identify the positive cases of COVID-19 post-vaccination, where we found:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
7.6 %<\/b> of vaccinated people (irrespective of dose) were found to be positive.<\/td>\n60.7 %<\/b> of these positive cases were female<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
42.9%<\/b> were in the 18-35 age group<\/p>\n

35.7%<\/b> were in the 35-55 age group<\/p>\n

21.4%<\/b> in the >55 age group<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

0.96 % <\/b>of tested patients at Suburban Diagnostics that were completely vaccinated i.e. both the doses completed were found to be COVID-19 positive with true breakthrough infections.<\/p>\n
